Introducing, Weird Al Vankovic

Well, we named the van. For whatever reason, I’ve always felt weird about naming automobiles, but Jason insisted. Meet the new member of our family, Weird Al Vankovic:

We picked it (or… ermm… him?) up in Seguin last Tuesday and spent a few nights at Palmetto State Park to test it out. Aside from a few minor issues (mysterious standing water and a cabinet that doesn’t always want to latch), we had a pretty successful test trip! The folks at Stahmann RV have been so great through this whole process, and we are excited to get on the road full-time in a few weeks.

As far as our trip goes, Palmetto State Park exceeded my expectations. Honestly, I just picked it because it was close to the dealership and had full hookup sites available. But we found it to be a great little getaway, with some trails that looked more like Central America than central Texas.

Now we just have a couple of weeks to put all of our stuff into storage before hitting the road for real, with a lot of planning that needs to be done too!

Stay tuned!
