As most of you know, Jason’s and my favorite part of the year has always been our trip to Europe! Each fall we’d take a couple of weeks off to go on a new adventure. We were hoping last year that we’d make it all the way to New Zealand. But, you know, 2020 happened.
So it’s been a while since we’ve set out on a big trip. So it wouldn’t surprise you if we told you that we planned to take a month off to travel around, catch up with faraway friends, and spend some quality time in the great outdoors. But this might surprise you: we are quitting our jobs in Houston to spend the year in a camper van traveling around North America (sorry, Mom and Dad!).
Next Tuesday at noon, we’ll be picking up our Winnebago Solis, which will serve as our home for the foreseeable future!* We have a small 2-night trial excursion after that, and then we hit the road. Do we have our whole trip all planned out? Absolutely not! We have a map of everywhere we want to go, but how and when we are going to get there is largely TBD.
We’ll be posting updates along the way on this blog, along with links to some photos and videos.
Will we give up after our first two-day camping trip at a local state park? Tune in next week to find out!
*The foreseeable future is planned to be about a year, but we have friends taking bets on how long this will last.
I cannot wait to hear about all your wonderful adventures! This is so exciting 😁
We are so proud of you and love you both so much! This next year will be a wonderful adventure. Thumper will love traveling with you. We can’t wait for you to pull up to our house!
Love,
